It was a good weekend. Sunday didn’t provide much more than Saturday, but my wonderful fiancee was with me which always makes not catching fish a lot more fun (she took the glamour shot you see above).
The fish still stayed away from the buggers and streamer, and the top-water action was just a tease. I let 4 good sized guys get away by not setting the hook with on top-water poppers. It’s hard to pay attention when you’ve gotta pretty girl sitting on the bank. I may not have got fish on my flies, but I set the hook on a beautiful girl with a ring and a lifetime commitment.
That definitely makes up for all the fish I didn’t catch.
