Slowing Down?

Shellcrackin’

Let’s face it. March and April were pretty good. Given that we never really had a winter, things kicked off early in March, and held strong through April. The crappie, bass, gills, and even the trout were finding their way into my flies.

I’m afraid that since May, and 90 degree highs, are starting to slow things down. I hope it’s not true. I hope the fishing picks back up a little, but the last week or so has been hot. Really hot. I’m afraid the bedding fish are bedding, and the dead-trout-swimming are already dead. Let’s hope that’s not the case.

In the meantime, I guess I can start working on projects I’ve been putting off for a while now:

Time to rewrap my grandfather’s old heddon fly rod
