It’s been a busy we with little to no fishing to accompany. I’m not complaining though because I’m getting married. My apologies to my frequent readers, all 5 of y’all, for the lack of content recently. I wish I had more time to show you all of the ponds, rivers, and lakes I’ve been drooling to fish recently, but honestly, they really have been interrupted by more important matters, and I hope that’s the way it is for the rest of my life.
I love my wife-to-be so much that I’m glad (and excited) that she’s been the reason I’ve been absent from ‘On the Fly’ and pretty much the internet in general. It has just now been that I’ve reached a small oasis in the planning of the wedding and festivities that I have any time to sit down and write.
Okay, you guys get it, but I couldn’t type a post without including something to do with fishing. Right? Well, I’m going to do something a little uncharacteristic of myself and share some of the other blogs I’ve still managed to browse even though I’ve been busy.
Definitely make time for the usual Troutrageous! (the name alone is every reason to check it out) and TFM. I consider those guys standards for fly fishing blogs. However, I’ve recently been into reading Tommy Ellis’s blog: Following Ghost. Not to mention following Gary Hanson on twitter. Neither Tommy nor Gary talk about fly fishing at all really, but both are heavily involved with fishing. Tommy makes hand crafted lures, and Gary uses those lures to bag fish right and left. Keeping up with their posts and tweets has been highly enjoyable for me.
I know what you’re thinking, “but they don’t talk about fly fishing.” True. But both do for me what hopefully this blog can do for others, and that’s to churn the desire to go fishing.
Enjoy the musings of others for a while. I’m going to get hitched!
