Summer Trip?

the chattahoochee river in columbus georgia

I can confirm that a float trip down the Chattahoochee River is in the works for this summer. We were holding out hope for a return trip to Alaska this summer, but it doesn’t look like that option will work out. So, the only thing to do about that is hop on a boat and spend a long weekend floating and fishing the Chattahoochee.

About 290 miles of the Chattahoochee River is navigable.

The plan:

Myself along with a few friends will send our wives to Destin, Fl for the weekend while the guys put in our boat in Columbus, Ga, and float and fish our way down to Apalachicola Bay. Once we reach the bay we’ll take a hard right and meet our wives in Destin.

This is a trip I’ve been wanting to take for quite some time, but never found the right opportunity. It looks like this May or June might just be the best, and possibly last, chance I get. Everything is tentative for now, but I will keep you updated on the prospects of the Hooch Trip.
